For our purposes in English 102, we are defining big “C” Culture as one’s nationality, race, ethnicity and religion. You may identify yourself with one or more groups within each of these categories. Conversely, you may not identify yourself with a group from one or two of these categories. Take some time to think about how you see yourself and how others see you. How has your Culture or Cultures shaped who you are and how you view the world? To answer this question, it may be helpful to compare yourself to a person or people of a different Culture. Also, do others make assumptions about you based on your Culture or Cultures that are not necessarily true?
Every country has its own culture and tradition. Culture is essential for our individual survival. We rely on culture because we are not born with the information we need to survive.
I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. I was raised to be a Jehovah Witness, but once I got old enough, I changed my religion to christianity. Growing up as a Jehovah Witness, my parents were very strict, whereas though I couldnt hang outside with children. With this religion, we didnt celebrate any holidays including birthdays. People on the outside looking in we'll see me as a weird person, because I was child not celebrating christmas, birthdays etc.
Being a Christian, we celebrate birthdays and holidays. Its a tradition to cook every holiday. There are certain beliefs we believe in. Its was also tradition in my family dress up on holidays and to spend the holidays together as a family. I would say American have the best Nationality because its core values are better.(freedom) I speak English. We have a lot of different values then o ther. Its very important to us to finish school, achievement and success, freedom and liberty.
Being an American, food is a universal type of material. Most americans eat chicken. I love chicken. American Food is very tastefu. Seeing as though that this society we live in is very Diverse, there is a mixture of different type religion people practiced.
